1923
He passed last year. Got to 98 with no serious health scares/issues. Caught COVID (after getting immunized) and he knew he was done.

1919. He reported for WWII duty in 1938. Served in the calvary. Hard man.

1945
He had my dad at 20 and my dad was 23 when I was born.
Unfortunately, he died in his mid 60’s from a grueling bout with bone cancer. Thankful that I grew while he was still working every day and he got to teach me a lot, but makes me sad and freaks me out that he never got to truly retire. They basically told him he was going to die within a year, so that’s when he decided to retire and live out the rest of his life the best he could while he could.

Grandfather was 49 when my father was born, my father was 33 when I showed up. Grandaddy lived to be 90, died when I was 9. My Maternal grandfather was born in 1883 and also lived to 90. I'm always overwhelmed by the changes they lived through. I've always felt that I skipped a generation.
