I won't play anywhere I need to walk (ok, maybe Augusta if I could get on). I exercise the other 6 days a week and so would not be walking for that. I have no desire to carry or push my bag for 4 hours. I know some people love walking, but it is one of the things I cannot see the other side of. Nothing about it appeals to me.

Before most every shot, between my cart and my ball.

used to walk 36 each saturday and sunday, but i had a caddy!(was living in thailand)

felt bad for those girls, some dudes would make them carry these huge staff bags in the 100 degree heat

I used to always walk, but when i play now I ride, easier to carry the beer

I make all my Par 5's CART PATH ONLY.

Lets not forget golf is an exercise sport.

Same here, I do not play often enough. It takes long enough for me when I use a cart, if I walked the course I would constantly have people playing through.

If I can get back to a regular regime and get my scores down, I might start walking.

I also do not drive my cart across the course (the wife does), if my shot is bad enough that I need to cross the fairway to get it, then I feel I should have to walk

Unfortunately, I'm not good enough to walk. Takes me long enough as it is to find my ball with a cart.

I'm not good enough to walk 18 and not hold up others. I also can't tote all my booze when walking.

Almost always walk at Bayou. Walked Audubon last week for our Tournament.

Some courses just aren't walker friendly, but ultimately, I'd love to walk more often.

At a course with beer cart girls, I'd walk. Some local muni course, I'm getting a cart. Most of the time I would just go alone. But now that I'm older, I'd rather ride around a little outside with some friends, throw back some cold ones, and not have a round of golf take 5+ hours just so I can say I walked it.

Before the renovations and new basketball arena at Troy, there was a 9 hole course. Some hills to it, and I would walk it every Wednesday morning. That was the day students could play for free. Sometimes I'd get through 9 and stop, and if I was feeling up to it play again.

never did 18, but enjoyed the walk and exercise and comraderie

but most of my pals are stay at home and no interest in golf

I haven't played in years, but I just migtht take it up again soon after I tie up some loose ends

I think it'll be fun

Well, I won my flight with a net 59. Since he won't tell me who he is, I'll just assume I did.

I walk occasionally on the flat, tight courses around here. I wouldn't even consider walking most of the courses in the Branson area. It would be like an extreme sport hiking those hills carrying a bag.

I walk all the time. I find that I play better when I walk because I don't want to go chase after an errant shot.

And for everyone that says walking slows down a group, i call hooey on that. I consistently keep pace when paired up with riders. If anything, I get stuck playing behind slow-arse foursomes riding in carts.

Never walk. I suck at golf and would just hold up the people behind me.

its actually not quicker.

You play just as fast, if not faster, walking if you are a decent golfer.

A single walking will not be as a fast as a single riding

A twosome might be about even

A foursome walking will be likely faster than a foursome riding.

4somes walking will be faster than most riding 4somes. They get to their ball and have yardage and clubs figured out when it's their turn. Riders tend to go to one ball and sit until it's their turn then when they finally hit that shot, they have to ride over to the other guys ball and repeat the process.
