I don't do this very often but I called around to shop my homeowners and auto policy and will save almost $500 every 6 months. And no it wasn't Geico.

I switched from Farmers to Allstate.

I did for my homeowners' policy this past year after my premium went up by $1000 due to all of the hurricane-related claims in "the area."

I look about every 6 months. Nobody is beating the rates and coverage I get with State Farm. I went in for a meeting last week with my State Farm Agent.

They told me “you have one of the most complete full coverage policies we have seen in this office”.

Works for me. $363 a month for a 1M umbrella and max coverage, $100 deduct on comp and collision, for insurance on two new vehicles.

Home owners. Like 1/2 and 2%, $400k plus whatever max economic adjustment at full replacement value. Max everything but earthquake. $3,050 a year.

Lake Charles…so yeah, hell weather alley USA.

don't get it, my agent does shop around for me, I've got an impeccable driving record and I don't like my premiums going up so I can pay for all of you other reckless deadbeats out there

I bet I could smoke that

ETA - independent broker here. People coming from State Farm are usually lay ups for us, coverage and premium wise.

why, cause they are sleeze bag agents that always quote to beat prices, not compete on coverages. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Not at all. I was tired of getting screwed over. My insurance increased every 6 months without any claims.

If you see TV commercials for an insurance company on TV 5 times a day every day, guess where the money to pay for those commercials is coming from.
I mean I would totally bone Mara from Progressive, but I ain't paying their rates.

I did once but since I bundled I was getting the best rates possible. Probably won't do it again.
