On the other hand, more than 8 hours a night is extreme as well and will also lead to poor health conditions long term.
thats nots what the studies show. health benefits up to 10 hours.

Last year had bad insomnia... coming out of it. Now getting 5 to 7, sometimes 8 per night, just depends. Last year it was like 2 to 4.
Edit: I figured out the root cause of my sleep issues. Also, learned a *lot* along the way about fight/flight, amygdala response, etc.

no doubt, it's like anything, with studies to show either direction. There's no one size fits all when it comes to sleep and health.

I can’t seem to sleep more than 5.5 hours. This started some time after working from home.
This is not surprising. This is one root cause of sleep issues for me... I found out (anecdotally) that social isolation can cause a "low level" fight/flight response, which can cause sleep disruption. I've seen articles mentioning this as well.

I try to get 8 hrs but often wake up at 3 or 4 am and can't get back to sleep.

Usually, 8 hours
9-5
Sometimes a little more or less but that’s a solid avg for me

na, there are no studies showing 8-10 hours is detrimental in any way shape or form

that is not even how good studies work. covid bs has warped yall to how real studies work. not made up BS

I slept a solid 10 hours night before last (aided by Delta 9). I had tons of energy and felt better than I have in years. The draw back, it was hard to go to sleep last night.

I'm usually in bed between 9-9:30 and get up at 3:30.

Typically 8. Last night, 0. I’m dying today

Same here. Two nights in a row with 10 hours sleep compared to 6-7 hrs normally. My thinking and clarity are off the charts with the additional sleep. For me, it's easy to do being Winter time, nasty, dark outside.

Around 6 hrs, doesn't matter is I go to bed at 8 or midnight. I wish I could sleep longer but when I wake I up, rarely am I able to go back to sleep.

Bed by 7:00 up at 3:45. Usually wake up and read at midnight. So about 7 or 8.
