Well yeah but he also gave us more information and the fact that it's the kid's aunt going through what sounds like a shitty divorce definitely plays a role in what he should be paid.

Me, my wife and my buddy moved us into our current house by ourselves in a day. It sucked and will be the last time I move my own stuff again though.
A party of 6 can easily move her shite out in an afternoon.

Nothing pizza and beer maybe a 20$ for the teenagers, helping family is something you do. Even in tough times.

When I was that age I had to help move my sister into her dorm, then every year after that it seemed like either myself or one of my siblings or cousins were moving apartments in college. Guess who drove a pickup and got roped into every single move? Never got paid for it other than food and beer. And then in the middle of all that, my parents, realizing their last kid was about to graduate and move off to college, decided to get out of our old 2 story and build a one level house.
I never understood why my dad, a successful physician with a booming private practice, was so cheap when it came to hiring movers, or even renting a truck. He had me, both of my sisters boyfriends, a family friend, and his nurse’s husband making several trips each in trucks. We could load a bed and mattress in mine, could get a little more on the big diesel truck, and it took us most of a weekend. We could have paid $100 and rented the biggest U-Haul and made one or two trips but he did it the hard way. Even renting a big trailer would have cut out trips in half.
He also borrowed my truck one weekend after we had all graduated to take an old fridge from my older sisters house down to my aunt, about 3 hours away. I didn’t mind as he left me his convertible to tool around in and I only had to help load it. I’m sure my cousins had the rough part getting it out of the truck and into her house.
Anyways, if it takes a whole day give them each $150-200 and a case of beer. If it stretches into more than a day then you have to go $350.

I got roped into helping aunts and uncles move a couple times as a teenager and all I got paid was food and drinking beer with my dad and uncles when we finished
