3 years ago I paid $2600 to have a pine tree cut down in my back yard. So maybe expect to pay around $7,8000? Maybe add another $1200 and expect to pay $9000 and hope its less than that?

You should more accurately try the Home and Garden Board.

They are next to the road but no other immediate obstacles (no power lines). Trees will need to be cut in sections (not dropping whole tree due to house 30 feet away). The trees are approx. 40 feet tall and have limited limbs because the trees are dead. I don't need the trees hauled off but they will need to be moved to a burn pile on the property (about 50 yards away).

If y’all have any tree crews in the area trimming ROW’s for the power company, go talk to them. They will be the cheapest option. They could knock that side job out in a couple hours for $500 and be happy to do it.

I had a 120' pine cut down, hauled away and the stump ground down for about $4000.

Definitely shop around.

I've heard some of the more expensive outfits end up subcontracting the work to cheaper options that you could probably find yourself if you look around.

I just had a dead oak tree taken down that was between my house & shop. Hauled it off too for $2500. Alot of it is how careful they have to be to not damage anything. Bringing a bucket truck & roping everything off takes time that will cost you more.

Best thing to do is get at least 5 estimates bc they can vary greatly. We had estimates that ranged between $2000 & $4500.

Seriously $3500. Bout $1,000 a tree plus debris removal.

Thanks for all the replies. I'd be glad to pay $2500 total to have them dropped, cut and moved to burn pile.

Thanks for the suggestion to call city. City I live in has 1000 people so unlikely to get any help there.

It's common to see a bucket truck out cutting things off power poles that sounds like a good idea but no idea when they will be back around.

I'll let the trees rot and fall on their own before paying 10k total.

I would say anywhere from 2 to 4k is about in line, but as others have said, shop around.

Was able to help me and I introduced him to my neighbor who also has dead pines. He gave me a fair quote. Not sure how much he's charging the neighbor but I'm sure it's more than me.

He owes you lunch for sure.

Get three bidders.

The lowest will do a shitty job.

The highest is giving a frick you price because their calendar is booked.

Hire the guy in the middle.

That's the price.

$7,000

I don't think this is far off. I had two trees felled at the same time 15 years ago, and it was about $2k/tree. One was damaged by a storm, and required two cranes to take it down. With inflation, I'd think $7,000 for three easy trees is pretty accurate.

Crackhead off Craig’s list 1500.00 or market place you can find some decent tree guys on both that can drop that thing for you moving it may be tough without a bobcat 1500 you aren’t getting it moved.

A solid firm should be able to do it for 1800 or so.

Bucket access and would leave 16” rounds (whatever diameter) for you to move wherever.

50 yard pushing would be extra.

Brush would be chipped on site.

Bucket truck, brush chipper, chipper truck and three man crew.

Work order complete by lunch.

God forbid, don’t call the tree company and get an estimate.
