None. You either use your PTO or lose it. We get 40 hours per year.

Damn. 5 days sucks man. Is it a small family business or something? I always figured 10 days was pretty much the minimum for most full time employees.

Yeah, 5 days is terrible. I wouldn't take a new job with less than 15 starting, unless it was a complete flex schedule.

Use it or lose it for me

Or the pay would have to be phenomenal. Even then I wouldn't want to do that for more than a year or two.
I think two weeks would be the bare minimum. My wife only gets 10 vacation days but it's loosely enforced. It kind of sucks because I get a lot more than her and end up just burning a lot of mine doing nothing.

Up to 100% but it must be used in the follow year or it's lost.

No it’s a regional company (we’re all over the southeast) but we do over a billion dollars a year in revenue. We used to only have 3 days of PTO but they bumped up to 5 days about a year ago. I guess everyone started complaining

Zero, and we have to use PTO for sick days.

It all rolls over with no limit.

That's almost unheard of. I think the least I've ever had right out of college was 12 vacation days and 10 sick days.

“Unlimited PTO” is a trend even for big companies. First off they don’t have to carry the liability on their books. As “working hours” get blurred, employees require flexibility. Employers don’t care when the work is done, just that it’s done.
I believe studies also show workers take less time off, which benefits the company.
There's a psychology to it.

I know right. And you don’t earn vacation after 1 year either. I started nearly 6 years ago in April and all I had starting out were only 3 days and that had to last me until January.
My 1st job out of college I think I started with 40 hours of PTO and you would accrue 4 hours every month. I can’t remember what the cap was but I wish it was the same over here

I Checked this morning and I have used 85 hours and have 76.9 left (and counting). Can only roll over 40. I get 168 total hours each year.
Posted on 12/9/19 at 6:24 pm to Eli Goldfinger
80 hours. 81-120 gets you half a paycheck. Anything over 120 is lost.

I get 20 days per year and can roll 5 of those days over. I usually don’t though. I’ve got two days left for this year and I’ll burn those the Thursday & Friday after Christmas.

Can Roll over as much as you want a year. They set a limit on what you can have in reserves PTO. Equates to 6 weeks pay. After that you have to use it or lose it. Can cash out at retirement for nice extra check.
One of the reasons I took my job. I don't make as much as I could. But 3 years in I get 4 weeks vacation and 4 sick leave. You can also keep 40 hours of sick leave in reserve.
Accumulate it weekly so it never runs out either.

6 days. But the next year I’d be maxed unless I used all of next year and some of the 6.
Posted on 12/9/19 at 8:14 pm to Eli Goldfinger
I dont get to roll any over I have 160 hours vacay and 40 hours sick per year. They actually let me use it so I dont stress about it rolling over

I currently have 117 hours (and adding), but we can only roll 40 hours to next year.
There aren’t many workdays left in the year.
Is it based on calendar year or your anniversary date though?
I've had companies with the same policy but let's say you hired in on June 5th, that would be the drop dead date you had to use it or lose it.

Roll over 240. Hit that this year, so I'll probably have about 20 days a year to use or lose unless I drop below that for some reason.
