I would make a lot of people comfortable moving forward in life. And I mean a lot. Especially In my small home town and surrounding area.

It's not $450 million AFTER taxes... that is before taxes... you will end up with about $280 Million.

I'd pay off my parents' houses and such, maybe buy everyone in my immediate family a new vehicle. Then take them all on one hell of a vacation to Branson or something equally high class.

The only church I go to is the bar, so I'd invite all four of my friends and run up as much miller lite and jose cuervo shots as they could handle. Probably even tip above 15%.

As for charity, I'd have to think more about that and if there were any causes where I was confident the money wouldn't just pad someone else's pockets.

Let's assume $250 million after taxes. You know every family member will have their hand out. I'm guessing I distribute around $100 million to family.

ETA: I know the chances of winning are slim, but I bought 10 tickets so that brings the odds down to about 1,000:1

And this is why so many people go broke and lose everything after coming into alot of money.

You can legally only "give away" $4mill in your lifetime without being slapped with something like a 40% tax on every dollar over that amount.

You protect the hell out of that $250 million like its your only job, and 'donate' through the interest that money generates. NEVER give away your nest egg, regardless if you think you have 'too much!"

They don't need that kind of money just given to them.

Says that guy that hypothetically was just given several hundred million dollars.

44 million dollars to your church...? I am not sure they need 44 million dollars...

44 million dollars to charity...? Eh... Why not start your own so that you know that money won't be wasted.

88 million to your family...? Jesus man...

You started out with 443 and you're already on your way to being poor.

It would not be one church, but many.

I do not need to start yet another charity, that is pointless. The money will be spread among the many good charities out there. You can actually research which charities have the least amount of overhead and get the most to people who need it.

If you win, your family will increase . There is not a reason why my extended family should not benefit from an extremely lucky event.

If you can do the above, it will help put your head and heart in the right place. There is reason most lottery winners lose it all, they are like the idiots of this place

Tax gurus or Lawyers,

Can the IRS come after me for Gift Tax if I had a joint account with an immediate family member in which they had full access too?

I'm not handing millions over to greedy family members. I'll pay off their debt, build parents a new home and put up plenty for each niece and nephew for college.

Donations to St Judes would be where the majority would go. Donations to my church and the small private school attached to it.

Do you even Sharon Wesson Broome? You hire those people as consultants and advisors. You pay them a salary. No give always.

Instead of doing that, open your own megachurch. It would be a good investment. You would give your peeps a place they can all meet, and they will pay you for it. You would lose nothing.

I'd give ten million each for my parents and sibling. A mill for each grandparent. Maybe a few hundred thousand scattered amongst the rest of the family.

Friends will probably get invited on trips but can otherwise forget it.

I might give a mill to the church.

The rest is all going in land, a massive house to put on said land, a smattering of stocks I like long-term, and lots of trips.
