Correction

This works as long as you don’t marry a whore

Honestly, being a good team is more important.

Passion is good, especially early, but an inability to work together will frick you six ways from Sunday.

Love, not the thrill/infatuation/obsession, grows out of long-term commitment. Not the other way around.

Love-the-feeling went up and down over the course of our 37 years, but love-the-commitment deepened and grew over the years.

Neither.

Marriage is a commitment.

Probably better to work good as a team. Love ain’t enough for a lot of people if they can’t work together.

Being a good team is essential. Plenty of marriages that struggle around me are due to the husband and wife not being on the same page or complimenting the other. It’s quite shocking to me how much a buddy just refuses to help or is selfish about what they would rather do.

100% team. 0% love. Love is imaginary. It’s in your head. The feeling goes away fast. After that you either work well together against the world as a partnership, or not.

Most of the work involves tolerance for each other and respect.

Talk to each other. After five years you will be probably be communicating more than fornicating, so you might as well get a good start on it.

Throughout a married there’s so many ups and downs with the way you feel about each other. Raising kids requires teamwork but I guess it’s genuine love that makes you put fourth the effort to work as a team. I think love and teamwork goes hand in hand.
