How much is your discretionary spending a month?

So the wife (no pics) and I combined our accounts and got the capital one venture in order to use for all of our spending/bills and gain points. We did this about 3 months ago and I guess I never noticed our spending habits until now. It’s sickening how much we spend on eating out/drinks. We don’t have any kids yet so I guess it’s ok but damn I had no idea we spent that much on discretionary spending- makes me sick. Youngins- don’t get married. Just stick with hookers it’s much cheaper

I don’t know and I don’t even want to know.

Getting married wasn’t your problem. You and/or your wife lack discipline and the spine to tell each other to cut down the spending.

Cut it in half and invest the other half.

We could use a lot more cooked meals than going eat. It’s just tough with both having demanding jobs. But you’re right. We spend about 3k a month and our combined income is around 140 so for now we can live nicely still but once that first kid comes into play there’s no way we could afford that kinda spending

LZ83, aren’t you a welfare recipient?

Way too much on eating out and drinking but we enjoy it so I don’t think it’s wasted money

So do my wife and I, but I cook at least 5/7 days a week.

Jesus. I’d get tired of eating out real fast.

Not much, I hate shopping. $8/day for lunch when I don't cook. I don't have to check anymore.

THats not all just eating out- that includes all discretionary income but eating out and going have drinks at bars here and there is a pretty good size contributing factor

~$1,500
That’s grocery bill, amazon orders, and gas included

I spend most of my money on booze, cocaine, and whores.
The rest of it, I waste.

I eat out for lunch every day, brunch once on weekend, dinner with family 2-3 times a weeks, and a couple happy hours thrown in
