. A bunch of kids that work at gamestop while going to school is the wrong group to ask. $80k is good money anywhere for the most part. Never change OT.

I'd be comfortable at $120k/yr, but that's my bottom for being comfortable. I'm about to have to drop several thousand dollars on something that I'm not happy about doing, and I make less than that. Gonna wheel and deal at the end of the year, and will hopefully be closer to that number.

Good money is > $300k/yr to me

I remember getting my first job out of college and thinking once I get up to 50k I've made it. Then I got married and had kids

All about location.

Plant Baw salary in Baton Rouge isn’t enough in Austin Texas.

my old roommate would always say that if he wasn't making $100k by the time he was 30 he would consider his life a failure

he is currently selling cell phones at a mall kiosk at the age of 35

these thread always remind me of him

A lot of those guys make 80-100k. Are you saying that you can't live in Austin on 100k?

So, doubling the avg mean US income for US families isn't considered good for most people?

The ones I always work with get denied OT by the bosses 95% of the time. It sucks, because when they get to the overtime point, I get to charge 2x. There's a lot less OT being had than the OT would lead you to believe

The vast majority of the OT make $40-$80K/ yr. Many are in sales and are “consultants”.

a single guy making $80k is "making good money"

Not in a lot of major markets where cost of living is high

It's too vague of a question. In Baton Rouge? 80k single is good money. In San Francisco he's living in a dumpster.

How do you figure that’s what the vast majority here does?

Also I don’t think many “consultants” make less than $80k.
