All student loan holders should stage a protest. Everyon go 3 months at the same time without paying your loans and see the second and third order effects. I’m actually curious myself.

Had TOPS at LSU and a full ride for grad school, but it doesn't cover tution/fees/room and board/books.

I don't know the exact process because I haven't tried, but I'm pretty sure it's really easy to defer them, for hardship and other purposes, and to extend them.

U can’t default. Even if u bankrupt it doesn’t go away. U can thank Obama. He supplied colleges with billions loaning you money. It’s a scam. Typical of government takeover. Before 2009 it was between u and the bank. No longer.

Don't default. Get a deferment or extension. Or talk to them and make they payments dependent on income; income sensitive.

With the exception of those with degrees that allow them to have lucrative jobs. Med school, law school, etc

This really is the truth. If you're a college worthy student, there are plenty of schools that will pay for you to be there. Outside of grad school, few necessities are bought with student loans.

this isn't an Obama thing

this has been in progress for decades and is due to government-guaranteed loans and public universities taking advantage of the incentives

Same here. Expensive as hell undergrad then law/grad school. Public Loan Service Forgiveness Program for the win.

Going to take a few more years, then my balance goes bye bye.

I chose to take out loans to go to the school I wanted to go to. Not only do I believe 100% I got a better job because of it, I also had the time of my life for a monthly payment I can easily afford each month.
