what state? Google that shite, every state has a pretty much standard formula. In Arkansas for example, under normal circumstances the non custodial parent will pay 25% of their pretax salary in child support + 1/2 the cost of medical insurance for a single child.

They factor your income vs hers and the percentage of time you will have him/her vs your ex wife.

So, you guys are about 70/30 and if you're only getting custody every other weekend and one night/week kind of deal, you're gonna pay out of the arse.

My ex and I were 60/40 income and 50/50 custody, so mine was basically a joke. I gave her extra money every month cause I felt bad that it came out so little.

In the last few years some judges have been doing that under certain circumstances up here in Arkansas, and that's only fair. If you have the child half the time, why should you have to help the other parent financially?

be prepared for $1200-$1300 a month plus keeping little one on your insurance plus kid showing up all the time in old clothes that dont fit plus kid always asking you for money that will actually be going to mommmy

I work 14 and 14 for an oil company. My kid is a year and half old and still breast feed at night, so Im sure the custody situation will be fricked.
