Pretty stupid for just 2 people to have a 3000 sq/ft house.

2 people. 3486 sq ft. 5 br and 4.5 baths

Stupid but needed to spend what all of what my Chicago condo sold for and smaller homes in nicer neighborhoods were hard to find, so whatever. It’s also a good investment in its current location as it’s a growing area. Didn’t want a condo again. Wanted a yard and 4 separate walls.

Have to flush the toilets periodically in a couple bathrooms as they don’t get used. Lol

Whats the right setup here?

Im talking high-end, new construction. Good layout, proper window placement, and a nice budget for furnishings.

Don’t get me wrong, sq footage is great.

That doesnt tell me anything about a setup. That could be a description for a 8000 ft mansion also

700 square ft for 4 people and a dog isnt room for much of anything. The rooms are going to be small, which means small bed and barely any room for anything. Your bedrooms are going to be 10'x10'.

It seems impossible to not be living on top of each other

Ours is 2400 3/2, good size for 3 people but would probably want something bigger for 4. Baby gets its own room, so if we have another all of my stuff in extra BR has no place to go. I need my things.

Ours is 2500 living, 4/2.5 (like 3400 under roof) and it's too big imo. We have 2 kids and 2 dogs and there are entire rooms that we rarely use.

3,000 sq. ft. living area. Had 3 kids but 2 have been out of the house for the past 7-8 years. My previous house was around 3,600 living with a separate 3 car garage, but it was too much space and a pain in the arse to keep up. Once my last kid moves on to LSU, I'll either downsize to around 2,200 or possibly move onto large acreage.

3600 two kids, two stories .. love the house and especially the front porch but easily see us downsizing once the kids are gone..

Sub 900

Not to the exact specs, but in the ballpark. Certainly the rooms will be small, but if a place checks every other box, it’s doable.

2,700 sq ft, no kids. Bought a beautiful home, brand new construction, no gated community (rare in SW FL), and for what we paid, $420K, I could have moved in to a mansion in LA. This area is so expensive, and most live in gated communities, where you have HOA's of $500/month. This area is full of millionaire senior citizens who live here a couple months out of the year. It is surreal.

ETA - One guest room has become the beer brewing room. The SO wanted a hobby I have a closet the size of a bedroom and I can't reach the top hanging bars. But the open, 3 nozzle, walk through shower is amazing. And the 6" gators out back on the pond are cool,

So small that a husband and wife will be sleeping in a full size bed and hopefully neither owns much clothes at all because there will be no room for anything. Hopefully neither is a professional like an attorney or banker where they have an extensive wardrobe primarily for work

You basically can own only the bare necessities because you have no room for anything unless you just pile it up in the corner

Fwiw, that place looks very nice. For a single male with maybe a girlfriend (that doesnt live there)
