At least 3000 sq feet bc that’s the minimum to be able to live on the OT

That helps. Mrs. Poochie must get ready a little faster than what I am used to as well.

I have two teenage daughters, when they are both moved out I plan to downsize to about 1400 for just the wife and I.

just me, the wife, and the dog in 1350. Unfinished basement and huge attic. It's more than enough. 3000 for 2 people is excessive.

because I like having a backyard and just built a huge fricking deck that I enjoy smoking cigars on.

and I'm not walking this goddamn dog.

Dont have kids if you are just going to pile them in a room to live

So what happens when they move out and go live on campus at college? Or go to the military?

Frick having kids that feel like they’re entitled to they’re own space and don’t have to share.

2200 for 5 of us. That's 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 living areas, dining room, & eat in kitchen.

I wish the sq ft of the smaller living area was split up among 2 of the bedrooms and a utility/mud room but otherwise it has been fine.

2400 SF 1 kid now, had 4 at one time (2 were babies). Thinking about going bigger now, actually.

I lived in a house that was right around 1000 SF house 2BR 1 bath with mom and dad and 4 siblings and typically at 2 extended family members until my dad died when I was 9. I laugh when people want to talk about my white privilege.

It is not only possible, but was the norm not that long ago. I grew up in a 1400SQft 3bed 1 bath house, it was typically for middle class family in the 1960s. When my kids were growing up we lived in a 1100Sqft 2bed 1bath house for several years, it was perfectly fine, and probably the place we enjoyed the most.

Never, you want them to be uncomfortable so they will leave home as soon as possible, and the last thing a teenager is entitled to is privacy.

3300. Two kids and I work from home, so one bedroom is my office. I grew up with 3 brothers in a 900 square foot house because we couldn't afford anything bigger. We got by just fine. I would gladly trade some under roof square footage in this house for a couple of acres somewhere.
