It's not the trashy Americans they dislike. I've been trashy in Europe and I fit right in.

I was based in Fulda, Germany back in the 80's. The locals were very polite, welcoming, and nice in general. Of course I made sure to follow how my momma raised me by always minding my good Southern manners when dealing with the locals.

Japanese are infinitely more obnoxious in Europe than Americans. At least, as I've noticed.

Chinese tourists are an issue there now as well. They were all over the place in Sweden and Denmark, which was weird as hell for me to see. Vans and buses full of Chinese people who move in packs and have absolutely no idea that life exists around them.

Not all assholes who go abroad are white trash. And Europeans as a whole really don't give a frick about us.

Europeans love boozing it probably more than the average American does.

If I had to rank the worst tourists worldwide:

1) Japanese
2) Israelis
3) Indians
4) Americans

And I'd say we're a significant drop from the first 3 countries I listed.

There are plenty of white trash Europeans too. I work around a 23/20 Brit who would fit right in around Leesville.

Then again, I always try to speak their language and am generally respectful. A simple "bonjour" can go a long way.

I love how most "enlightened" Americans think that only Americans can be trashy. Hey, those Euros can't be trashy. They have cool, smart-sounding accents... And American women like fricking the foreigners because it's almost like traveling.

I got rather pissed at the Irishman in Galway who saw me wearing a maroon MSU t-shirt and asked me if I was an Ole Miss student.

Very true. There are al lot of misconceptions people over here have of everyone in Europe being these highly intelligent, enlightened people who sit around the little café sipping lattés and discussing art and poems while wearing fashionable clothing and cool looking berets.

Americans are loud, fat, an dress horribly. They are obnoxious. Having spent some time in Europe, I could tell the Americans at first sight, even from a distance. They carry a lot of stuff around with them. They are generally a mess.

I love America, but when you travel internationally, you can spot an American in airports and other places quite easily just by their body language, entitlement, and loudness.

Probably about the same amount as poor white trash Europeans that have been to America.

Really your threads are just awful and you're a terrible poster.

Yes indeed. I've met too many Europeans that complain about our misconceptions of Europe and arrogance towards them, who then turn around and act the same way towards the U.S.

I was on a flight to Stockholm in April and had the pleasure of sitting near some fat frick wearing sweatpants, a superman t-shirt, a giant bathrobe, and white sunglasses. And he walked through the airport dressed that way after we landed.
