This is a LA forum, bye bye Oil and Gas industry, your state will suffer.
It was an industry in decline already but it will never go away in any of our lifetimes.

Well lets see. Pay $40 a week now to fill up for gas.
Under biden it will be $80 a week. An extra $160 a month. Factor in other increases due to gas like groceries and goods. $200+ a month in extra expenses. $2400 a year.
Could be invested somewhere making me money

There's very little if any fracking going on in Louisiana compared to these other states...
Texas, Penn, North Dakota, Colorado, Oklahoma, Wyoming, West Virginia, Ohio...etc....those states will suffer the most

Its a carrot dangling in front of the horse cart. Nothing changes, but people are dumb enough to think it will.
If youre middle class, you will always be nothing but a taxpayer to fund government.

This is one of the most ignorant thing I have ever read.
Presidents shape world events. Are you not in the world?

If you work in manufacturing, re-entering the Paris Agreement could realistically cost you your job.

The only president in my lifetime who has directly impeded my pursuit of happiness was Obama, when he forced me to buy shitty health care that I could barely afford.
And I'm sure he'll be a puppeteer for Biden, doing the same kind of things and more.

Yes it has. You just don’t know it because you don’t have the imagination to know what your life would have been.

Not mine. Its the same ole shite every 4 years. We are all fed a bunch of bullshite about how if this person gets elected this will happen so we have to elect that person.
In the summer of 2008 when we started paying $4.50 for a gallon of gas then as we got closer to the end of the year the stock market started taking a beating and guys I was working with, who had planned to retire within the next year had to end up working for 3 or 4 more years I figured that it really is all bullshite.
Bush and then Obama bailed the banks out despite the fact they were the ones who put everyone in that situation in the first place.
A president is like a principal or a department head. Whatever they are head of is bigger than just them. It was there before them, it will be there when they leave. If they do anything that hurt the country it can get changed. If someone does something to help the country, the next one can come in and get rid of that as well.
Special interest and lobbyist spend billions a year to get policies and laws changed to serve their best interest and when you start putting too much into what is going on thats when you let it control you.

Black unemployment hit an all time low under Trump and a shitton of soldiers weren’t turned into fodder like under previous presidents. There’s two groups for you that had it significantly better.
Now those of us who are actually OT rich are about to get the “fair share” dildo rammed up our asses. As if we don’t already pull most everybody’s weight. What’s a little more gonna hurt?

Local elections are much more important to your day-to-day life. They never get much coverage or concern, though.

Thinking of what could hit closest to home. One of my top three reasons to vote for Trump in '16 was his promise to rescind AFFH, that godawful rule concocted by LBJ, installed by Obama, and championed by that literal bag of shite Julian Castro that permitted the feds to withhold funds from neighborhoods that weren't "diverse" enough. I was living in a new construction at the time with lots of development going on and I was scared shitless that my investment was gonna be ruined by affordable housing going up in the name of diversity.
In '18, other circumstances let me sell my house and move my family to a quiet single-unit neighborhood that is completely built out, thankfully. I still monitor the old neighborhood for development, but Trump finally nixed AFFH over the summer, fulfilling the last campaign promise that I had banked on and giving me great joy for the neighbors and friends I'd made in that place.
A Biden presidency will probably reinstate the rule with the quickness. As a result, I expect my old 'hood, and countless others, to suffer.

I’m making 3 times what I did under Obama, so hopefully it keeps up under Harris.

This has always affected my family - my dad had good private sector-quasi government jobs under Reagan - but he had to go back to teaching under old man Bush - I don’t remember the shift bc I was little
When my family works for the government - it doesn’t matter who is in - most are civil servants but it affects my husband’s line of work - he changed careers when Obama was in bc of the drastic pay cuts
If Biden shuts everything down again - it may need to be a career change or I may have to go back to work - which isn’t a big deal but we homeschool - so that would even affect my kids

quote:Wait till you live through a little stagflation, 15% interest rates and hour long waits at the gas pumps and let us know if the policies of a President make a difference in your every day life. That’s why Carter was a one term President and Regan is considered the best modern day Prez.
Stagflation refers to an economy that is experiencing a simultaneous increase in inflation and stagnation of economic output. Stagflation was first recognized during the 1970's, where many developed economies experienced rapid inflation and high unemployment as a result of an oil shock.

According to what we know about Biden's tax plan, your paycheck shouldn't change much, if at all, unless you are making more than $400k per year.
Obama’s fake number was 250k, not one dime.
That was bullshite.
Oh and the whole keep your doctor, more affordable healthcare thing, also bullshite.
Envy and fear are the easiest motivators to use
