I saw this too or something close.
I think it was 25% of 7 ft Americans.

I'd say a few thousand Americans 7ft.

A huge number of 7 footers in the NBA are foreign players. Most of the 7 foot guys I have met were probably more in the 6'10 range. Just like all the 5'10ish guys that say they are 6'0. It is pretty rare and super tall people live much shorter lives. The 300 to 400 range sounds about right..

Our Parish President is just over 7’ tall. My daughter saw him at the gas station when she was home for a visit and laughed watching him bend down to use the keypad.

When someone blows their horn at me in traffic I suddenly become 10ft tall.

Fact: An actual accounting of 7-footers, domestic or global, does not exist in any reliable form. National surveys by the Center for Disease Control list no head count or percentile at that height. (Only 5% of adult American males are 6'3" or taller.) "In terms of the growth spectrum, 7 feet is simply extreme," explains endocrinologist Shlomo Melmed, dean of the medical faculty at L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The term 7-footer is itself a kind of outer limit, a far-off threshold beyond which precise measurement seems superfluous. A 6'4" guard isn't a 6-footer, after all. The curve shaped by the CDC's available statistics, however, does allow one to estimate the number of American men between the ages of 20 and 40 who are 7 feet or taller: fewer than 70 in all

See, that's what I'm talking about. No one has a good idea of how many people right now in the US are in the seven-foot club. people that study all available data believe the number to be somewhere above 100 and below 500 people.

From what I can tell there's only been one woman above the seven foot mark that played in the WNBA, Malgorzata Dydek from Poland, and she died in 2011. In total there's only been five women that tall; only one was from the US and three of the five are dead.
