How many people ended up moving outside of Louisiana permanently after Katrina?

Just saw a post on another topic where someone stated they have lived in Mobile since Katrina. I'm in Houston and Birmingham a lot and am surprised at the number of people that I meet that moved there after Katrina and stayed. This isn't meant to be a ragging on Louisiana thread. Anybody ever see any numbers on this?

You can figure this out pretty easily. Total the population of New Orleans and Baton Rouge pre Katrina, then total it again a few years post Katrina, then do it again for last year. I include Baton Rouge bc most Katrina transplants that didn’t leave the state moved to BR. The difference in those populations is how many people left after Katrina roughly

Found this info -
Louisiana population in
2005 - 4,576,000
2006 - 4,300,000
2014 - 4,650,000
Based on those numbers it would appear that not as many people left as I thought.

Don't have an exact number, but I know Houston, DFW, and parts of the gulf coast got much darker afterwards

No, that wouldn't factor is those that have moved into the area. The hispanic population in New Orleans has grown exceptionally over the last dozen years.

the new orleans criminals all just moved over to baton rouge, thats as far as they got
