Went into one of the new modern branches a month ago. Not sure if it was the full cafe thing, but it was dumb.

Poor customer service person was sitting on a bench seat with an I-pad and a little 24X24 inch table. She was putting papers and note pad, etc on each side of her and on the table. Just a dumb look to appear modern.

I bank with them. The last time I was in the bank there were two employees, an officer, and a teller. I don't know what they're trying to prove. Lack of service sells?

The last time I set foot in a Capital One, I closed three deposit accounts, three investment accounts, a safe deposit box, and two checking accounts specifically because they prefer to close branches and open up these no service cafe bullshite things.

I'm apparently not the banking customer they're looking for, so I was more than happy to take my business elsewhere.

It's fricking stupid as shite and they should instead focus on getting their heads out of their asses and organize their shite better.

Worst banking experience ever. They wanted me to have notarized a document that was necessary to release some inheritance money for my mother. It would have been nice if they would have told me about this requirement the first two times I went there.

I just had to Google what that is, and holy crap they did that with the Campus Federal on campus! I walked in recently after not having been in years, and I was so confused about where to go deposit my cash.

The front desk receptionist ended up doing it, which felt weird. There were no teller windows.

I mean, I understand that going into a bank is not a thing most people do regularly anymore so it entirely makes sense to downsize staff, but I don't really get the money being spent to redo the space and encourage people to hang out.

There aren’t any in Louisiana. Don’t think Texas has them either.

Been to one in Boston and another in Virginia while traveling. Used the ATM got something to eat/drink and done.

Are they just trying to lease space to cafes?

Don't be too hasty on the criticism: If you'd have come to the OT Bank, we'd have asked for pics of her too.

Capital One sure looks like it wants to be the bank of people who aren’t real saavy with their money.

They’re fantastic if you want coffee and WiFi rather than sound financial advice.

Chase tried this a few years ago and it drove away most of the experienced bankers and replaced them with hipster millennials that never had a mortgage, weren’t contributing to their 401k and had missed a credit card payment in the last 12 months.

I bank with Chase and they have reorganized many of the branches around huge floor ATM like machines that provide all services while cutting down on the number of teller windows. At my branch they even moved the teller window to the very back of the building down a hallway where you can’t even see it from the front door. All this effort to encourage banking with a machine and then they put the stupid greeter podium at the front door. I feel like I am at a restaurant talking to the hostess when I walk into the branch.
