I've never experienced it, and neither has most people. People bitch and moan about insurance companies and would bitch and moan ten times more if the Government had complete control over it.

$10k worth of taillights stolen out of my 250 that had me in a rental for six weeks. USAA paid for everything with about six minutes worth of conversation.
I got hit by a USAA covered Tesla driver, who was rated 100% at fault. Spent two months in a rental for $20k worth of damage (and repeated issues to fix diesel codes,) they paid with no complaint.
I did have a hospital try to charge me $800 for a half teaspoon of ibuprofen for daughter, which I fought successfully after insurance tapped out, but that wasn’t insurances fault.

I’ve known people who file homeowner claims for hail damage on their roof. Insurance denies saying there is no hail damage.
Another storm passes, new hail damage. Another claim filed, and insurance denies saying the hail damage was pre-existing lol

Biggest was when they decided a scan and one of my chemo treatments weren’t necessary and I got a $25k bill.
Not sure what ultimately happened. But I didn’t pay it, after lots of fighting. I think clinic just ate it.

My spouse was in a not at fault car accident in September. Four days in the hospital, two weeks in a rehab clinic, two months and counting of physical therapy. So we're dealing with both health and auto insurance. The major complaint I have so far is they moved her out of the rehab facility too soon. We haven't started haggling over the settlement yet. We do have a lawyer ( not the billboard kind). He's from one of the major firms in Louisiana and seems to be on top of things.

I was rear ended by a USAA driver, went to the ED, lost a little work time and USAA was on top of everything toots sweet.

If I am being completely honest here...I've screwed them over more than they have screwed me.
Most recently I had a paid off car with liability get completely destroyed by baseball size hail. It was worth about 12k.
Took out full coverage...waited a few months and drove into a massive hail storm in another county.
Be the one doing the fricking instead of the other way around.

It’s rare you see an actual confession to felony insurance fraud but here we are.

My experience with insurance companies is that they for the most part want to do right by their insured’s.

Tigerdroppings is the only digital footprint I got lol
If it helps/inspires just one person to screw over an insurance company it's worth the risk

house flooding multiple times.
The only reason your insurance co. paid your claim was due to the federal government. The government underwrites flood insurance, not the insurance companies. They refuse to cover flood, they only get paid to service the claim.

And then when any of them gets denied with the documentation I’ve supplied, I get on the line with another doctor and argue the case.
And this doesn't even get into the fact that's it's a failed internal medicine guy arguing about orthopedic procedures. It's often not even their specialty, but they're supposed to know better than the doc who actually does it for a living

I don't know what he was hoping for exactly but I do know that insurance of any kind is very much a you get what you pay for proposition.
My home and auto is insured through state farm and and I have UHC PPO as my health carrier. I know what my policies cover and not cover and if I want additional coverage, I can pay for it.
And on that note, one of the biggest problems your garden variety consumer has with insurance is that they don't fully understand what's covered in their own policy. So when it's time to make a claim, they're pissed off because they don't have the coverage they thought they had.
I'm satisfied with all facets of my insurance coverage because I know what I'm paying for. And no, we're not all "entitled" to the same level of health care. With Medicaid or "self pay", you get what you pay for. With a UHC Select PPO, you get what you pay for.

I got slammed into by a senior in high school racing to school because he was late. I was on my way to work and he ran a red light. I was in my truck and he was in a Honda Civic. The impact popped three of my tires.
I legit thought I was going to get a hefty settlement. They ended up paying off my truck, gave me a rental for a few weeks and paid for my medical. Everything was paid directly. I didn't come out of pocket for anything but also didn't get anything extra.
On the other hand, one of out employees hit a car from behind in their company car. No damage whatsoever to their car but our company car and a nice dent in the front. Our insurance paid that woman $230K

A lady backed into my car. 100% her fault. She had Stare Farm. State Farm called me to get my info. Rep was an absolute moron. Some time goes by and I wonder why I haven’t heard anything so I call SF.
SF: “We didn’t have your contact info so we assigned 50% blame to you.”
Me: “That’s funny because you’ve had no problem processing my payments for the last 20 years”

I would imagine most of the stories here aren’t even true.

If you bought any sort of warranty from a big box store, you bought insurance.
I'm sure lots have been screwed by those.
