Occasionally beer, never liquor though. And I usually follow it by huffing glue and getting some coffee.

People like to think it is, but it's not common for New Orleans lawyers to drink at lunch. Maybe on Friday, but then they are not coming back to the office

Allow me to rephrase: it is far more common for New Orleans lawyers to drink at lunch than for Houston lawyers to drink at lunch, particularly on Fridays and during summer clerkship programs.

I have wine sometimes on Fridays and if my boss takes me to lunch.

ETA: I'm useless in the afternoon if I drink on my lunch break

Nope. I already have a hard enough time staying awake after lunch.

Three of myself twice a week. But I am my own boss and if I want to go home and nap I can. Normally I just go home and have another of me.

The sales folks do for sure. We got a few female pipeline vendors, mostly the pipe/valves sales crew, that will take some of us out and they always drink. Must take the edge off and make them want to flash them titties more.

We are coming from the field and usually are going back so we just sit there and watch.....

I wonder how many of you who are cool with drinking at lunch would be against having a toke at lunch.

You don't get it. The point being argued is that alcohol itself is a mycotoxin because it's produced by a fungus (yeast) and because alcohol is toxic. Everyone who drinks alcohol already knows it's toxic and that it should be enjoyed in moderation.

Adding "myco" in front of "toxin" to denote that alcohol is a product of yeast does not make it any scarier to anyone who possesses a brain. That reeks of a rhetorical trick to make it seem more sensationally dangerous or toxic than it is.

It's the equivalent of using "chemically" sounding names of ingredients in food to scare sheep into thinking it must be bad for you because it sounds unnatural. News flash. Everything in existence is made of chemicals.

Went to a training event with some South Americans, they would order 2-3 at lunch and put it on the company tab. Went back to work and it did not seem to affect them. Different culture.

Fairly often. Most Fridays for sure. Maybe a day or two the rest of the week. Or not. Just depends on what I have going on. A beer with lunch is perfectly normal if I'm somewhere that's worth having a beer.
