Yep, and this entire site thought it was theft, and righfully so.

Considering the replies in this thread, it's not surprising people would try to spin this as some technicality. Call it what you want, it's morally indifferent from theft.

I just filled up my car and came back with another car, but they’ve shut the pumps down,” said one man.
Another customer sped up to the station only to find the pumps shut off. “I saw it on Facebook,” he said. “I guess I’m a few minutes too late.”
fricking pathetic people right here.

Funny what the difference here is.

Would you knowingly take incorrect change from a cashier?
Your stupidity is not my concern.

Don't live in BR - how many shot and how many "had hair, medium build, wearing clothes" descriptions did we get?

It is theft, by definition, if you knowingly accept something that isn't yours. Knowingly receiving incorrect change is absolutely theft.

I like how people are calling this dishonest and/or theft. It's not the consumers responsibility to worry about what prices a business sets, even if in error, plain and simple.
You should consult the Civil Code which governs in Louisiana - it will suggest otherwise.

Not even remotely the same thing.

I don't think that word works there, bro.

Of course the LA purchase card issue was theft. It was theft from the taxpayers who paid for that shite.
I could take a free tank of gas and sleep well at night.
Let me guess, you find a $20 bill on the sidewalk and advertise it on Craigslist, right? Surely the rightful owner will get his money back.

Again, tell yourself whatever you'd like. They're morally the same.
People want to get off on some technicality, that's fine, but don't fool yourself.

Probably should have used another one, but indifferent can be used to mean "not differentiated".

I mean, this is the same thing. You're just upset they're stealing from you and not from some random store owner.

I wouldn’t even notice. I’d just start pumping and at the end I’d see it and think to myself - well I don’t know. And then just fricking leave.
Yeah, I don’t think I’d even catch it. I can’t remember the last time I looked at the advertised price per gallon when pulling up to a pump. And I only sometimes look at the total cost after filling up. I usually just hook up to the pump, check work emails on my phone, re-holster the thing and then leave. I’d usually never notice.
ETA:
Slackster is right though. Lots of trashballs in here trying to pretend they don’t know what unscrupulous behavior is. If you actually notice that you only paid 15 cents for 20 gallons of gas and don’t say something then you’re either too retarded to understand that it’s a malfunction, or you’re of low enough character that you don’t mind being dishonest.

I'm just imaging you pumping gas, running inside to grab a Gatorade, coming out to see that your gas bill was 25 cents, and immediately sucking a hose to cyohon off that stolen gas of yours.
