Salaried and started week 5 of no work today. Blessed to still be getting paid the full amount. Technically I'm working from home, but there is only so much I can do from home in my position.

All 5 of our businesses are closed (approx 25 employees at each location)

Placed on furlough on March 17. Over 90 of us. Working my butt off around the house, if that counts. Luckily I had just received my Federal return an had a little saved besides that.

Did you file for unemployment?

If your not working you should. You didnt ask for this. That's what it's there for. Let the government help you some.

My wife's dental office she works at had to close because of the government mandate. They have all filed for unemployment.

turned down a part time job this morning that I applied to 3 weeks ago because my unemployment check will now double it because of the federal money

Is your business looking into the SBA loan? Not sure how that works since you laid off your employees though

I haven't really looked into it thinking it would mainly be to pay employees. It was a better deal for them to just be eligible for unemployment (also younger single people that aren't supporting a family) until the shop is open again.

I will see if some of the bailout goes to community based programs that help smaller independent neighborhood businesses (like maybe some rent relief) as this goes on.

My wife has been out since the 23rd. She has filed but we haven’t received any kind of payment so far. I’m hearing a bunch of people haven’t so I guess we’re all in the same boat. I’m thankful I still have my job.

My wife got her first Texas unemployment check last week and filed around the same time. Hope yours come thru soon.

I'm like you, luckily still working and covering the bills and have a good bit of savings. Her unemployment is helping us prepare in case Dental offices cant go back to work for a while.

Si. Laid off mid-March, filed for unemployment the next week. Their website is slow as shite for me, guess it’s that way for everyone from what I’ve been hearing. Took up gardening, I’m gonna have more watermelon than I’ll know what to do with. I’ve watched the natty at least 35 times. Found out my neighbors are cooler than I thought they were. The situation sucks but I’m making the most of it.

Make sure if she has to request payment. I dont know all the details, but in Texas, my wife has to login on her designated day of the week and request payment or she doesn't get it.

Might be something worth double checking.

She’s been doing her weekly certification. We did direct deposit so hopefully we get something soon. We’re in LA so I’m sure things are different and probably not in a good way
