re: How many of y'all bought into the hype of the H2 or H3 Hummer?

The H1 was the actual production military vehicle, the H2 and H3 were built on GM Tahoe and Blazer chassis as nothing more than something for those with some cash to look cool driving to the mall or as a driveway ornament in cookie cutter gated subdivisions.

I like the H3.
Actually I think Hummer was a pretty creative brand. They were good off road vehicles and seemed to attract the same buyers that Ford attracts with their Raptor or that Toyota got with their FJ.
I like all of them better than the sea of shitty minivan-based crossovers that everyone buys today.

The H3 did not have a 4 cylinder.

Right around the time the H2 came out was the time my friends and I got licenses. My best friend's dad bought him one of the bright yellow ones. He put rims (even the 5th) with custom tires and a custom sound system with a screen (when screens barely existed).
As douchey and as over-privileged as we were, that thing was the shite in high school and early college. We literally had people stop in the middle of the road and ask to take pictures with it, and we thought our shite didn't stink on Friday and Saturday nights.
No ragrets
PSA- it was POS as the years went on. The leather wore. The stitching started to come loose on the dashboard, and at one point one of our buddies ripped off a door handle just trying to open the door. Still though, time of our lives

I didn't even realize there were an H2 and H3.
I just knew there was an H1 and then the toy looking SUV that every try hard $30k millionaire or soccer mom drove to da club or da soccer field.
Way back in the day, my girlfriend's stepdad had one of these:
He took a guy's trip with some of his buddies and drove from NV deep into Mexico for 2 weeks, says they just tore up the desert, drank beers, grilled steaks, slept under the stars. I think they may been smuggling contraband. It was cool to ride in but he never let me drive it, unfortunately. I guess I should have put a ring on it.

I had an H2 as a company rig in 2015. Not impressive for the price.

My dad had a H2 and that thing was badass. But he got rid of it with the quickness when gas topp $3/gallon

You do realize you can get the 5.3 in that right?
And the I5 is a great engine, even if the h3 is too heavy for it
my wife bought it, i had no input.
its a piece of shite no matter how you sugar coat it.

I argue that they were ahead of their time.
If you see a factory stock H2 today, and had no prior knowledge of H2 or that they came out 15 years ago...you'd think it was a 2017 model that someone is pushing out.

I was at a coffee shop one night on my Range Rover and a guy walked in strutting around. He asked who drove the pussy British wannabe and no one said anything. He said it again and I looked at him and said " you must be the one driving the tonka toy outside". the few people in there kind of chuckled because the guy comes in often and is a dickhead. He huffed and walked back out. He had a bright yellow H2.
eta. I do like the looks of the h3 but it is too small for me. My city has a few Hummers and I want to buy one from them if they ever sell them.

Know how to price shop
If I like something, and it is reliable and functional (or can be made so), I buy it.
Putting 40-70k miles year on a vehicle, I will never buy new and I will never buy boring.

H1's look badass, but they fricking SUCK to drive.
Slow as frick, very harsh ride, 8mpg if you are lucky.
They may have been a great military vehicle, but they are straight up trash for regular civilian use.
Also, when you consider that they are gigantic in size, the interior cabin room is abysmal.

I'd buy a Hummer if it was converted to diesel
Dieselsellerz.com gave one away that looked badass

Have a cousin that still has an H1. It's a bad arse vehicle in so many ways. And he won't sell it.
Don't care for the H2 or H3. Shitty designs.
