I think you missed a few.

I can think of 15 in Auburn, and I am probably overlooking a couple.

Does this count the plethora of food trucks and food trailers that are perma parked in one spot?

The ones that don't have their menu in English should be deported.

I read that Mexican restaurants are actually sleeper cells that have been planted in the US over the years in the event of an upcoming insurrection. Their code word is TACO, which you’re now seeing all over X.

Why all these Mexican flags all of a sudden? The correlation is eerie.

In the closest town, there are none. There is a coffee shop, sandwich place, and a diner. For Mexican food, the nearest place is about 15 miles away.

2 Mexican restaurants but only one is owned by Mexicans.

Guess which one has the better food?

Hint: it’s not the one with the best drinks or the nicest bar.

Didn't the Arab owners of a Mexican restaurant in BR get busted a few years back for sending money back to the Mid-East? Seems like it may have involved tax evasion.

Yeah. There seems to be a non proportional amount of Mexican restaurants in almost every town.

It really is an amazing thing the Mexican restaurants lol. I’m white, but us white people are ridiculous when it comes to this stuff. All the Tex-Mex restaurants aren’t even that good. The best places are the food trucks or the hole in the wall Mexican restaurants on Florida Blvd, where everything is in Spanish.

I don't like "authentic" Mexican food. It's all beans and rice, with bad cheese. Give me good Tex Mex, with lots of meat, crisp chips and lots of cheese.

Are we counting places like Chipotle, Moe's and Willie’s as Mexican?

It’s pretty easy to crack the code on this. They would not be there unless there were a market for them. What is the market?—kids. You have a lot of Mexican restaurants wherever you have a lot of families. Why? Because kids eat Mexican. They will eat queso and chips and quesadillas. You can’t take kids to a Thai, or a Sushi, or a non-pizza Italian restaurant. But kids eat Mexican.

I live in an area of close to 2 million. Probably hundreds of Mexican restaurants. Most are cookie cutter and pretty much taste the same.

I will say my favorite place was forced to close during covid and never reopened. Got bought out.

RIP Pedros on Tate St. That place was so good. I still crave going there.
