Trying to decide what will be fast enough to stream LSU games regularly through fire stick along with the normal browsing on computers and phones for two people. Would 60 mbps be enough? What says the OT?

AT&T website says I need way more than other internet provider sites say I do

60 is fine for the vast majority of households. We have 150.

What makes you say this? Have you tried with 60 or less before?

60. It’s plenty for 2 phones, I pad, laptop, 2 TVs where we only do streaming.

Getting new router made all the difference for us. Went with the one always talked about on tech talk board - Nighthawk r7000. It’s awesome

400 down 25 up, and a nighthawk router, even when 5 devices are streaming it is still flawless.

Unless you have a server farm in your back bedroom, a true 50x50 fiber connection will serve your needs just fine.

A Netflix stream will consume around 3mbps, and I can stream just about anything on my old-school 3 meg DSL connection. No one else in the house can do anything while I'm streaming, but 3 meg will support one live stream.

I install AT&T fiber for a living, so I'm probably a little biased. But, there's no denying the effectiveness of our 4ms ping time and a legitimate 50x50 (actually 60x60) hsia over fiber.

The equipment we install will actually serve up to 1000x1000, but anything more than 100mbps is overkill IMHO.
