#1, 37yr old, been in house 11yrs.
I often think about upgrading, but I’ll start shipping kids out in just a few more years.
When we bought the house my income was less than half of what it is today. I get a ton of peace of mind from living well within my income.
I mean, your income should be a lot higher than it was 11 years ago. Mine is more than double as well, but of course, I was still in college.
I'm on #2, and I might do some investment property.

Growing up was one house my parents still live in and will until the end. I’m on my second as an adult, just built this one and it’ll be where they drag my bones out when it’s over. frick moving 3-5 years that’s insanity.

I’m on #2. I won’t ever plan on living in the same house for more than 7-10 years.

3 in 9 years.
First was a short sale townhouse when it was just the wife and I. Made bank selling that one.
Second was a move to the burbs where we planned on raising the kids, big yard, good schools, friendly neighborhoods.
Third, had to relocate into the city to make the commute bearable after an office relocation.
Probably going to move out to the burbs again in the next year based on a job change.

On #3. In 5 years, will be selling and downsizing once kids are done with high school.

I’m on house #3. Moved from house to house because we needed more space. Moved to house 3 because I had to relocate for work. We plan to stay here until at least the kids move out. 10 more years

11 over 40 years.
6 of those during the first 20 when I was a builder.
5 since retiring in 2000.

Currently in #4. I’m 37, bought my first house in college with my (now) ex-husband. Second house after I graduated and got divorced with my (now) ex-fiancé. 3rd after I married my current husband and we had our first baby (his first house). Just moved in to #4 about two years ago, now that we aren’t poor, lol. Well, we’re still OT poor.
This time I’m going to keep the house and get rid of the man.
I kid...

I’m 37 and I’ve bought one. I refused to settle and got a great house that checked all my boxes. I bought it when I was 25 after moving probably 8 times between 18-25. I’m never moving again.

Bought a duplex while still in college -- still have it but not counting that one
Been married 31 years -- bought first w/ husband just before marriage. It was a "fixer upper." Not long in we realized we screwed up -- had neither the time nor skill to fix it correctly. So after 2 years (and losing a bunch of $$ -- our fault), bought #2, our current. We have a little less than 3000 sq. ft. living. After Rita, when our kids were young and we thought we were crammed in, had plans drawn up to expand house. Saw price tag, canned plan. Now that kids are gone I'm glad we didn't enlarge. I will be in this house the day I died.

Still in my starter home with my pregnant wife (no pics) and our 2 year old daughter (no pics). Once our Boy is born (Bama game baby!) we are going to look into a new house or building.
We bought this house December of 15.
