Used those as part of my catholic upbringing when first married. Accurate and requires restraint. Worked well until we both drank too much and we fired up the kiln and heated up the steel rod. Pregnant shortly after that was a given.

Late wife and I used sympto thermal. It worked for us. She got pregnant twice, both planned. We usually had to abstain 3 or 4 days a month. The other 27 or 28 days we abstained by her choice.

Probably mostly the pull-out method.
