18 % is not natural. the ethanol kills the yeast at around 14%

I drank 15 last night but could have easily knocked out 20+ if I didn't have to get up at 5:00 am

There are strains that will get farther out there than that
I created a mutant batch once by re-using champainge yeast dregs over and over in some mash and it would get over 20% if there were enough carbs present to feed it.
Killed it off in the end as although the %yeild was high the flavors were not so nice.
