How long should I wait before drinking after getting wisdom teeth removed?

Doctor told me that it should be one of the easier wisdom teeth removals because I’m getting it earlier rather than later.
Just curious how long will the pain last and how long should I wait before drinking? Im gonna be out of town shortly after the surgery on vacation.

Just under 4 minutes...about 3 minutes and 50 seconds

I didn’t find the procedure painful and you should just watch the drinking if you are taking pain meds.

Are you planning on needing sedating pain meds after this procedure?

Okay well that’s not an option

Did you not get instructions?

And I took 1 pain pill and that was it. I’m not even sure I needed it. But doc told me it’s better to get ahead of the pain instead of waiting until it really hurts.

If your wisdom teeth aren’t causing you any immediate problems, you could just reschedule the surgery for after you return from vacation.

Okay well If I recall correctly, the real issue is concerns about getting a dry socket. Need time for the hole to cover/fill in.
Most pain meds given for that contain codiene and while alone can mess with your stomach some (some folks have no issues also) couple that with alcohol could result in either a great buzz or a bad time.
Pain varies with your tolerance level and ease/difficulty of procedure.

One of my friends dads said that a few hours after getting his wisdom teeth taken out, he was eating Johnny’s pizza and drinking beer. I’d say you should wait 4-6 hours

You didn’t pre-drink? You’re fricked

I had all 4 taken out in 45 minutes, under injection, covered under major medical. I drank the next day because the day of, I was still coming out of the anesthesia. Loopy as hell.

I can't tell if this is a serious question. How long did you wait to drink when you took a pain pill for fun? What exactly are you asking? Why is it you think you can't drink? My answer is as soon as the sedation from the surgery wears off.

Had all four out no local, long story. Vicodin and a 40 an hour after.

Instead of alcohol just enjoy the pain killers you get for a better drunk. When those are gone you should be good to drink
Or both, frick it
