25-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Which I don't mind--i like to drive my truck and listen to audiobooks.

2 blocks. 4 minute walk, 5 if I have to wait for the traffic light.

Is it worth living a 40-50 minute commute away from where you work and/or children go to school if it's significantly cheaper and the school has a cheap tuition?
that's like adding 8-10 hours a week of work already on to your 40-60 hours that you aren't getting paid for. Actually it's costing you gas and maintenance. Quality of life needs to be added in the equation as well.

Living an hour in the suburbs removes you from the 'cultcha', but also puts you an hour away from actual culture like museums, restaurants, theaters, musical venues, etc.

1 hr to 1.3 hours if LA1 is sucking. Actually kind of enjoy the drive when there isnt a ton of traffic. No regrets.

Depends on the city. None of those things are an issue for me to get to from the suburbs.

I commuted for awhile from Metairie to lower Belle Chase and hated it.

But I also commuted for awhile from Metairie to Thibodoux and it wasn't too bad.

30coming into work; 40 minutes leaving work. Several reasons worth the commute:
-great ISDs for our kids when they start school
-very close to my wife's work
-we like the area (McKinney/Plano area would be best area but that commute for both of us would be killer)
-my work is in an area I would not want to live (Arlington)

27-28 minutes if I drive the Speed Limit, mostly controlled access (one traffic light).

Been doing it since Reagan was in the White House, someone recently told me that I should get a smart horse for the commute and I could just tell it in the evenings "Bozo*, To the Barn!" and then fuggetaboutit.

Kind of an Amish self-driving vehicle.

*It's like my new thing. I call everybody "Bozo".

Takes about 40 minutes to go 20 miles in the mornings and about an 1 hr 30-45 minutes coming home. If I have to go to our corporate office, 40 miles, it's a minimum of 1 hr 15 minutes in the am and 2 hours+ in the afternoon.

Add another 30 minutes for either if it's Friday afternoon. I hate Atlanta traffic.

I lose this thread. My average commute is about 1 hour 15 min and I fly once a week.

I do have a company car and get mileage though.

My commute is 20 mins on light traffic days and 25 if heavy traffic. 30-45 mins isn't that bad of a commute.

My deal with the Fütettes was TLWOKAMF* would drop them off in the AMs and I would be the PM picker-upper.

It worked well for a couple of decades.
