How long does it take a car salesman to give up?

In Feb, I emailed a salesman at a Nashville Toyota dealership for the price of a Tacoma. I bought from a different dealer, but this guy has emailed me daily to see if I’m still looking and trying to set up a test drive.
These aren’t boilerplate mass emails. Rather, these are personalized emails he’s clearly writing at the moment.
I haven’t let him know I’m no longer in the market, because I want to see how tenacious he is. He’s pretty amazing so far.

You get pressured to do it daily at a lot of lots. I just got a new vehicle recently and I remember being hit up 2-3 times daily about it by a lot of dealers. It's annoying as shite.

How about you drop the act and let him know you’ve bought elsewhere? You’ll likely get your answer.
Guy’s just trying to make a living

I had a salesman follow up with me in an email. I just told him I bought from another dealership, and he never emailed me again. Imagine that

I told him I would be back in touch if interested.
Does the fricker think I forgot about buying a new truck?

How about not being a jerk and just tell him that you bought from another person. That way you both can move on.

The "I will call YOU back" line usually goes in one ear and out the other.
How long are you planning on stringing this guy along?

Audi dealership has been calling me since November even though I’ve told them countless times I bought a different car.

This makes you even more of a dick. This man is probably trying to provide for himself and maybe a family, and you're stringing him along, wasting his time. What a shame on your part.

I’m sure he remembers everything every person he talks to every day says. What a dick

You're a dick. He's wasting his time on you and probably has a family of his own to feed.

If you left it like that, I feel a little less judgmental. Still doesn’t seem real difficult to tell someone no thanks. You’re not diagnosing them with cancer.
I’ve been in sales since college. I don’t hold car sales guys in high esteem, but I’m amazed by the population percentage who’s too chickenshit to tell someone they’ve gone in another direction.

Are you on the spectrum?

They are relentless at getting you a good deal. I’ll always tip them when the sale is done.

Yeah...I suppose he could use that time to stand in the lot and smoke another cigarette.
