Cool.

Have you not heard that all MGM properties in LV and the Wynn/Encore have closed?

Have you not heard that cruises have been stopped?

Did you miss that Disneyland and Disney World are closed from now until the end of March?

Have you not seen that United Airlines has said they are going to slash payroll by 50% in April and May?

Have you not seen all of the states/cities that have shut down places and made restaurants to go only?

Have you not seen that most restaurants are going to a take out only model?

Do you not think more is coming and that some of those are going to have long term trickle down effects?

Or were you just being a dumbass?

I think you’re being generous. It took what, 30 hours after Katrina made landfall for NOLA to descend into anarchy?

That still wouldnt mean the vast majority of Americans aren't working as OP suggested.

You need to calm down.

1. I'm calm...that post was really stupid.

2. OP didn't claim anywhere that the majority of Americans arent working.

Like 2 or 3?

You're using "most restaurants" very loosely here.

It would take a vast majority of Americans to not be working for this to become a Great Depression situation, as the OP said it would become.

OP also said:

And our government cannot afford to float the population’s entire life for a month.

On the contrary, I believe when this virus problem has peaked we're going to see the release of the most pent up demand for goods and services the U.S. has seen since the end of World War II.

Umm no. You should try checking the news more often.

Once again, should check the news. Grocery stores are also going to curbside only.

Clearly you dont understand the big picture. That is only after shite started hitting the fan about 5 days ago. What will this look like in a week as the numbers of infected people explode and places panic even more?

There are going to very much be long term economic impacts from this. Not sure it will spiral us into Great Depression, but there will absolutely be devastating impacts to some.

Well I’m just gonna keep shopping at small organic places during this time.

I still have a higher risk of getting VD and the clap

In 5 seconds of google research here are 5 entire states:

LINK

Are you so naive to think no more will come today?

In addition to these 5 states, there are other cities that have done this

Oh I'm sure there will be as the hysteria continues.

My original statement still stands though, the vast majority of people are still working and will likely do so.

Will there be long term impacts for some? Sure, there always are, I dont see a Great Depression type of event like OP is predicting though.

Neither do I and I already said that, but the economic impacts will be devastating regardless.

How so?

I feel the economy will rebound quite nicely once this passes.

As I'm sure there'll be assistance for individuals who didnt have any sort of emergency fund.

The only problem I see is how soft people have become and piss and moan about every inconvenience like it is the end of times. Most folks need to grow a pair and get on with whatever life throws at them without crying about it.

Folks have always pissed and moaned about everything. That's why old men sit for hours and drink coffee out in front of small town gas stations. To shoot shite and complain about the world.

The difference is that now folks have an outlet to put those complaints on so you have to constantly hear them.

Lots of people will be laid off. Again United Airlines is already slashing their payroll by 50%. That is going to impact a lot of people.

From the sounds of your post you think some of these closures will open back up and everything will be fine in 2 weeks. It wont. What if bars and restaurants are closed for 4 or 5 weeks? All those servers that depend on tips for money are going to be hurting badly. What about the people that run small hole in the wall type places. Can they afford 0 income for 4 or 5 weeks?
With people panicking, what will the revenue stream look like even when they do open back up?

What about small niche shops? How many people are running out and shopping for non essentials right now? Can those business owners afford it?

Again, this will not result in another GD, but I dont get how you could possibly disagree that the economic impact will be devastating to some.
