This isn't Japan.

Different culture, population, geographic area, government, history, etc...

That wouldn't work here.

The US military would never use "total war" on its own soil. There is a great amount of difference between resistance to martial law (the maximum extent of domestic military action) versus an actual conflict against a uniformed enemy.

If everyone in America sang Karaoke as much as the Japanese do, I'm pretty sure we would have less gun violence than we do now.

I bet you don't vote either, do you? Because your one vote doesn't make a difference?

fricking this. It's a homogenous society. do you know how much easier everything would be if this country had a homogenous population. But the diversity is what makes America so unique. You have to take the bad with the good.

Agreed, it's a trade off

However...is there some evidence that suggests that the more diverse states have higher crime rates? I'd think not. I'm willing to listen.

Being on an island helps.

Being a basically homogeneous population helps.

Japan is an island smaller than California with no easy borders to cross with illegal guns and no minorities to use them.

There are more gun deaths in the U.S. than in Japan.

There are more gun deaths in Canada than in Japan.

There are more gun deaths in Great Britain than in Japan.

It's not guns we have to worry about.....it's speaking English that gets people shot.....
