Wise means you have seen this shite before, either through direct experience or observation, and have a good idea of how it will work out in the end.
No, it doesn't mean that. That means you're cunning, not wise. You can still do horrible things to get your way. A wise person will not commit violence or ruin other lives just for the sake of it. Many cunning people though will do that simply to establish a state of fear where people won't cross them.
Look when Saddam Hussein took power. This was exceptionally cruel and cunning, but one of the least wise actions I can think of: Horrifying video when Saddam took power

you are entitled to your own opinions, i guess.
i should mention you post like oweo.
for someone who is boasting his knowledge base on what wisdom is, you sure are argumentative.

I've never claimed to be wise, I just know the definition and the process of becoming it. I'm too young to be wise anyway. I think it's exceptionally rare to come across someone who is truly wise under 40.

Knowledge + Experience = Wisdom.
I disagree whole heartedly with this.
Wisdom comes from knowledge plus experience, it doesnt mean that everyone who learns and experiences becomes wise.

Well, that's just half of it. I would say that self reflection is far more important to wisdom than actual knowledge is.

By making mistakes--hey its part of life. Make mistakes and learn from them and listen to wise people (elders). Always surround yourself with people who are smarter than yourself.

Wisdom is knowing what information you need and applying that information.
My phone can tell me anything but I need to know what I’m looking for and how to use that information once I have it.
Wisdom comes from trial and error throughout life.

Knowledge >> experience

Short answer? By falling on your arse, picking yourself back up, and learning from it.

Some things you just can’t fully grasp until you are really in the shite.
You can read about it and watch stuff on it and talk about it, but until you feel that adrenaline rush of the actual experience, you won’t really understand it

Wisdom is the fringe benefit of failure.

you've got about 30 posters who are 30+ years old saying the exact same shite in this thread on wisdom.
you're one of the few saying otherwise. i think that may hold some weight in your "what's wisdom" theory.
and i still agree with the others.
knowledge + experience = wisdom.
but mostly experience.

IMO, Wisdom comes from preparation. Intelligence is usually a born trait. Knowledge is something you acquire. Wisdom comes from taking the intelligence you were born with and the knowledge you have learned to apply it to a certain situation to make the best possible decision.
Example: Most intelligent people realize that you need to save to retire. They then acquire the knowledge on how to save. Wise individuals puts these together and realize it’s best to start young therefore you can retire early. Might be a broad example, but it is applicable.

All I'm doing is adding self reflection to the equation. I agree with most of the posters on the steps, I just think the self reflection is what separates the cunning from the wise.

Listening more than talking, experiencing life and having longevity
