Will they be prepared for next Thurs/Friday and so on, for Star Wars? Thursday will be my first time there as well. Definitely going to go there fairly early, based on what I'm seeing here.
Star Wars opening will be a shite show. Nobody will be ready.
Alamo Draft House is an Austin based place and has definite Austin feel. Get there early 30 minutes before showtime. The videos they run prior to the show are at times amazing. Old school PSAs that they dig up from 50's to the 90's. Goes along with theme of whatever movie you are there to see. Short videos and clips. The research they must do to find footage and set it up for each movie must be a big job. Also any name actors in the movie you are going to see, Alamo will dig up any old video they were in. Maybe a cheesy ad or anything.
Star Wars at Alamo will be nuts. Costumes and everything I'm sure.

Been once, I agree with the posts about the seats. So comfortable, haven't tried the food so I can't comment on that though but I thought t was a cool atmosphere and a nice staff.

I have been to one in Atlanta. The seats do NOT recline and the hamburgers are $10 each!

I'll be there with the gf tonight as well. We have been a few times to the one in BR. Reserving your seats online is a huge benefit. Also having a few beers or glasses of wine is a plus. Food isn't anything great, but it's a movie theater. Usually we eat before and just head to the theater for the movie and drinks.

We thought it was great. We had low expectations though. Food was comparable to a Chili's. Not bad at all. Our service was decent. Surprisingly it wasn't a bother at all.
I would go back.
I would go back.

I love it. The seats are awesome. We get the boondocks saints nachos. The desserts were frozen then warmed up last time we had them.

I will def be returning there. I usually hate theaters but this one was very comfy and roomy.

Do you have to order any food at all, or can you just go for these super comfy chairs I am hearing about?

I went a few weeks ago to see The Martian too. My friends got their food well before I did, and we had to specifically ask about when my food was getting there. Magically it appears within 2 minutes...completely cold. They were chicken tenders, nothing even too fancy. I just couldn't salvage them no matter how hungry I was.
So that was disappointing. The seats were really good though. But at least at normal theatres, you don't have to wait for someone to bring your popcorn to you while it goes cold.

Which is why I'm waiting for a mid-week matinee for this one, let the dorks and assbags of BR go in dry on the weekend - I'll wait until Tuesday afternoon.

The fact you ordered chicken tenders there tells me there's no way you didn't engulf that chikin like a starving ethiopian

I've been 4 times. They have messed my order up 4 times or I had to get up and ask for my food an hour into the show. I'll go again for the comfortable seats and alcohol, but won't eat.

It's not exactly a reach to say movie theater waiters are probably the bottom of the barrel of the service industry. I'd bet good money people who order tons of food tip like shite anyways, so they probably don't even have much incentive to work hard.

You should have realized this from the beginning. I'd say it's 99% premade, and for concessions being the theater's primary source of money I noticed the prices weren't bad. The drinks are really cheap, and when they're slow I just switch to whiskey and get a double

I do it for my kids. They get a kick out of it.
They tell me they can't do a double (margarita), but you can order an extra shot on the side.
