I have direct tv.
Always call to make sure I'm getting all the discounts they have. My bill is 115. I have stars, HBO and showtime with four 4k receivers. I also have Sunday ticket
I have all the credits direct will offer plus the free HBO and 25 bucks a month for the ATT unlimited plan.

I switched from DTV to Dish back in December. Had DTV for 7 years and was tired of their pricing model. So when I called customer retention for DTV letting them know I was shopping around for cheaper pricing they literally offered nothing. So I switched. Got two year guaranteed pricing for $75 less a month with the same channel package through Dish. So far it's been great and no issues. The Hopper 3 is light years better than the Genie.

It's better.
The difference between the two used to be pretty thin until AT&T bought DirecTv.

Every time my contract runs out and my bill goes way up, all I do is call them and ask what new promotions they have going on or I'll have to drop them. Every time it goes right back to what it was. I pay $175/month for all of the channels and my internet bundle.

For ATT uverse internet.. its not as fast as cox buts its more stable and cheaper. I get 40mbs. Which unless you have 4 to 5 ppl streaming hd content at once is enough.
On another note i heard recently that Cox is now charging data fees after 1000 gigs a month instead of throttling..
Overall the internet in BR is a joke and over priced compared to areas that already have gigabyte connections for virtually the same price.

Dish vs DTV = tomatoe vs tomato in my experience. I've had both and can't tell a lot of difference. Switching next week from Dish to DTV because they're offering me the same service for 30% less than what I've been paying Dish. I agree with what someone posted earlier about neither of them having any loyalty to existing customers.

quote:Update: Got them to do a 1 year contract dropping my bill to $75 with everything I have currently from $130. And included Sunday Ticket for the year for free...And once again they told me to just call next year to see what promotions they have going on after the year is up. If you're still paying the same you've been paying for years, pick up the phone!! Only takes 10 minutes.
Well if you just sit around and continue to accept paying the same price what do you expect? They literally told me when I signed up how easy they are to negotiate with. Lol. All you have to do is call up and threaten to cancel and they'll start throwing stuff at you. I actually have to do it today as my 2-year contract is coming up as well as my 2-year contract on internet through Verizon. Basically just going to tell them I'm either packaging thru you guys or Verizon. And if I don't get the ticket for free this year I'm out b/c it's the only reason I signed up in the first place.

Did you call direct tv directly?
I am paying for Sunday ticket but want it for free haha.

Yea, called the customer service line which actually goes to ATnT I believe. But as soon as you tell them you want to talk about your contract they send you to the DTV folks. Just threaten to cancel and see what they say. What's the worst that can happen? I did have it for free the first year, paid for it last year, then getting it free again for this year.
Actually like how she only put me on a 1 year deal. She said call back after the year and see what promotions they have. Already perfect leverage for getting the ticket free next year as well. Different story if she had locked me in for 2 years I think like my original contract.

She probably gave you the deal for 1 year but signed you up for a 2 year contract. Directv is some sneaky bastards

I would cut DTV in a heartbeat if I lived in LA and could watch the Saints. But, I don't, so I take it in the anus without lube.

Wouldn't doubt it, lol. Cross that bridge this time next year.

Called. Now keep in mind I already have all the discounts just was about to pay for Sunday ticket to push my bill to 115.
Ended up getting the Sunday ticket MAX for 100 dollars. Went ahead and took it. Well worth it for me. Took my bill back to the 85 dollar mark. I just paid the 100 straight up. Things did get awkward when she offered me playboy tv for free haha
So I have four 4k receivers. The 240 package. HBO. Showtime and stars with ticket for about 85 after taxes. Bill would have been a little over 110 for 4 months or I didn't pay for ticket straight up would have been 115 for 6 months and I wouldn't have MAX
Well worth it to me instead of cutting the cord.
