How is DISH compared to DirecTV?

I've had DirecTV and I loved it but the pricing got ridiculous.
Dish has some good prices but is it an inferior product?

I've always liked the DISH layout better tbh

I've had both. For me Dish is so much better.

I went through this recently after getting auper pissed at Cox for breaking my internet connection on a Friday and leaving the gate open so my dogs almost got out...and not saying anything about it.
Comparing the two Dish seems cheaper but I went with DTV because adding the channels i actually wanted with the equipment actually made it more with Dish.. plus i got gaurantees pricing for 2 years and free Sunday ticket for a year.
Maybe try cancelling in your name and putting it in your wifes name or just calling them and working out a new deal.
Edit: but by all means just do not get Cox. Sattelite picture quality blew me away after having cable for 10 years...and their customer service was poop obviously. After i cancelled and turned in their shite they tried to say that didnt and owed them like 500 bucks...

Ive had DTV for a decade, its been great but im ready to drop it for a Fire stick. Damn near 300 a month for sat and internet bundle with at&t.

The Dish layout and remotes are much better. Dish's service connection is spotty during passing storms and their boxes have to reboot constantly.

I had Dish and I liked it.

Just had our bill for the same service you are talking about reduced to 65 bucks a month.

I have SlingTV with the sports package for $25 per month and a HD antenna. Screw paying $200 per month for cable and internet. We don't really watch a ton of TV anyway.

Im thinking about keeping just the basic package while i can watch movies on the fire stick ect.

Unless you live in an incredibly rural area or a trailer park, or a rural trailer park, there is no acceptable reason for you to have a satellite dish on your home in 2017.
If the cable sucks in your area just cut the cord and get Sling, Roku, Amazon, etc.

I've had Dish for over 20 years. No complaints here.

It's not an inferior product. I like Dish better. But I just switched to DTV because of the sign up deal they had. Dish wouldn't match it. I guess after 2 years I'll switch back on a Dish promo.

The DTV AT&T sign up deal gives me a much better product than cutting the cord and at a cheaper price. Unacceptable?

I've been a Directv customer since 2009 and about to drop them. I'm fed up with the $200 monthly bills and not ever watching shite to substantiate $200/ month. I do have 176 Paw Patrols and 313 Dr Phil episodes on DVD that can be seen from every tv in the house, but nothing else.
I'm also fed up wth the only time on a month that I can watch an LSU baseball game on espn and have it interrupted by a rain event during the CWS.

I never understood how anyone in south Louisiana has dishes

Outside of the introductory packages, I haven't found a hell of a lot of difference between any of the cable or satellite companies. they all know what the others charge and price themselves accordingly.

Well all this depends on what you consider "cutting the cord" My cable bill is about $25 a month with netflix and sling TV

Have to consider internet as well since you need much higher speeds than you would otherwise need.
