I have friends of all political beliefs, but I have found in the last year or so I have distanced myself from some people because they can't escape the stuff that is going on, on both sides. If you can't have a conversation without somehow bringing politics in it then I don't really want to hangout with you.

I will admit though that I avoid the hardcore I'm with her SJW people, but it's because they are miserable people to be around not because of who they vote for.

I work and interact with all kinds of folks. Sometimes we debate about stuff, but if you aren't smart enough to debate with facts and respect I won't talk to you about stuff. On that note I rarely debate with liberals

What does political leanings have to do with ability?
Same as race, creed or religion.
Matters not.

I tend to avoid people who are super political, regardless of the direction.

Not at all. Never discuss politics with someone you like. My best friend and I are polar opposites politically and it just never comes up. In fact, we've been friends for 28 years and I didn't know much about his politics until Facebook came around.

Everything is political; if someone doesn't recognize that fact they're not paying attention. Being from Silicon Valley , you have to notice how biased the tech firms are against conservatives. Most people I surround myself with are fellow golfers so we aren't around that many liberals. We like competition and most are self made upper income....we don't like identity politics.

None. Such beliefs are never discussed either, because none of us really care about what the other person believes. It's their business

I've been thinking hard about that today.

Usually it's no big deal at all. I have friends of all political beliefs and it never causes problems.

Although yesterday me and a girl I've been dating got into a pretty heated argument.

We were at a bar playing pool and she said something to the tune of "I hope those guys aren't white supremacists or Nazi's". She was referring to the guys we were playing. They were from Texas, wearing boots, your typical Texas looking baws.

I kinda laughed it off thinking she was being funny because all of the political bullshite lately, and replied with something like "Ha, I don't think we have any Nazi's here, nobody likes those frickers".

She replied, "our President does."

She's Asian also, and then went on a tangent about how much more unsafe she feels ever since Trump was elected.

That didn't sit well with me at all. I can tolerate differing views, but ignorant statements like that are a turn off.

I didn't vote for Trump. But irrational shite like that makes me defend him.

Important, although though I don't normally engage in political discussion, liberals typically have a "type" and I just simply don't associate with those types of people.

Unimportant, so long as they keep it to themselves OR are able to have a civilized discussion where "I agree to disagree" is a perfectly acceptable response when you both have run out of argument.

Same goes for religious beliefs. Keep that shite to yourself OR be able to discuss them and have someone challenge your beliefs in a civilized manner.

Or...you know...the exact opposite of what Facebook has turned into.

Eh, I don't really care as long as they don't act like the PC Police. I won't hang around you, if you're like that.
