Agreed, except that conservatives are just as prone to this tendency as liberals.

It's actually important to me that she has none. Nothing wore than working your arse off come home to an outraged girl over some bullshite someone said on Fox or MSNBC.

Not important. My favorite colleague at work is a 70 year old retired Navy physician, and a conservative's conservative. He speaks about politics frequently at work but I never engage.

A person's political beliefs are just a small part of them and not something in itself that would disqualify them from being a good friend to me.

I don't want to exclusively surround myself with people that believe the exact same thing I do. That's boring to me.
