I'm comfortable now $ wise. Used to it was kinda tight paying bills. I like saving $200+ a month on gas. Makes vacation easier too.

My investment accounts are down...obviously my COP stock has been shellacked. XOM is still fairly strong. The market as a whole is paying the price so I would assume most people's retirement accounts are losing YTD. My job is not related but any increase in unemployment still generates bad numbers which further depresses the market. At this point I expect a recession could be looming...mainly due to WTI crude and BRENT falling most days. I would rather spend an extra 40 bucks a month at the pump but hey maybe it will at least present a buying opportunity. Still hate that people lose jobs...never relish it that fact, it makes you an a-hole.

Most majors will still pay bonuses this yr. The independents will vary with zero, to some, to none. A number of service companies are no bonus and cutting salaries, if you still have a job.

Last yr ~200k jobs lost world wide. This year more layoffs have started and more to come.

Which refinery does she work at? It was a damn good year for the downstream folks.

At peak prices my truck too $84 to fill up...

Yesterday I filled up for $33.

I fill up once a week... So that is a huge difference.

Please explain the laughter....if you have investments that have been unaffected, I would love to hear it. No sarcasm here...just honest financial banter.

He must not be aware that there are people who plan to retire soon, but has put their plan to do so on hold because of their 401k.

Seriously! I am far from retiring but my inlaws just retired a year ago. I have never understood schadenfreud....I make jokes about it but who really loves to see others suffer.
