I work @ a boat & power sports store. We had a record March and trending a record April. I'm the finance guy so I speak to everyone and a common theme is people are buying out of boredom. People that would have never considered a 80k jet boat are now walking in and pulling the trigger. I am in complete awe. Very fortunate, but working like a dog. We have 1 salesman working right now, dude is fixing to clean up.

Yep, in same boat. No graduation, prom, etc for her senior year.

It's affected me and mine tremendously.

Wildcat.......not worried you may infect your family from the Golf Course? Chances are you will not get infected...but...is it worth someone in your family dying????
What? Walking myself with the bag on my back for 18. No rakes or flags...just me and the course I am more likely to get the virus by grocery shopping then golfing.

Dtr is home from college so yeah — but we were empty nesters
I’m Keeping up with housework, yard, etc
I’m Sewing and Netflix binging
I’m Working from home with half the hours
————————
Son won’t get to actually graduate from college
I cant visit with my parents or other family/friends
I Can’t get my hair cut
I can’t get my nails done
I can’t go to my favorite places because well, they’re closed
My mental health is starting to suffer at this point.

Why the switch within 3 words? That annoyed me to the point I don't remember what you were asking. Pick one and ride with it.
After going back and finishing the op, I just can't wait until don't see or hear the word "anecdotal" 147 times a day.

I just received an absolutely stupid low interest rate on a new house for our move.

Well, daddy o I had a business that employed 38 people of which I has to lay off. My brother and I owned an optical laboratory. Guess what, docs are not prescribing....prohibited from prescribing by the Louisiana Medical Society which means no exams by optometrists or ophthamologists. So if they cannot prescribe I cannot make. I cannot send account execs to drum up new business. I cannot invoice, because there is nothing to invoice. I took out an SBA and PPP but if I don't get appreciable business before September, then it's all for naught.
My employees are furloughed with not much to do. More than a few are depressed because they wake up and after the second cup of coffee they realize that there is NOTHING to look forward to. I can't give them guidance because our bug eyed mush mouthed West Point slap dick and the carpet bagger in NOLA want to keep Louisiana closed and prevent me from earning a living and helping the 32 families pay for things like cars, homes and school.
But, you probably come from the condescending and quite patronizing view that , " yes, I know this is very hard, but we are protecting the larger society, there will be a time for profit and normalcy, but right now we have to social distance."
You have no idea how much I hate politicians from both major parties and " scientists" right now.put me alone in a room with JBE , and he's not coming out.

This. Trying to buy my first home. Process was already stressful, but covid made it outrageously stressful. Got a stupid low interest rate though.
Other than that I'm still working, more than normal actually. I work out of town, but my girl has basically been at the house for a month losing her god damn mind. Hopefully Jody has stayed home as well.

Instead of being in my truck all day going from meetings, job site visits, and machine inspections followed by evenings of doing research and putting together estimates and proposals, I now do the meetings and visits via zoom, phone calls, and texts from my home office. Same for the “desk work” as I call it. I still have to go out every few days for machine inspections. But where I was traveling 200+ miles a day, I might not do that in a week now.

Far less than many. My wife and I are still employed and working from home. Kid has been home doing online classes.
We are fortunate so far other than minor inconveniences.
Not married and no kids, so I get bored at home with just the cat, but work has actually been better. Our team has really kicked arse during this. We've all been working from home, as well as helping the rest of the organization work from home and we've knocked it out the park. Some of it was because of tools that were designed that cut a lot of security bullshite out of the way, but a lot of it was that we saw it coming (as much as possible) and were able to prep for it once the WFH order hit the organization.
I really can't complain, but I don't like working from home everyday. I'm a social guy and sitting home all day is draining to me. I go to bed much earlier now. I walk every single night so I get my 6000 steps in nightly. THere has been a lot more woman out walking so I've seen more of my neighbors that I didn't even know existed before.
Miss my family though, but I'll be visiting them this weekend. frick the stay at home order, we've all been quarentined properly so it's not like we'll infect each other.

Actually I don't come from that. I can't stand politicians as well.
I personally would have let it run its course. It would most likely be just about over now.

Are you in the travel industry or something like that? Seems odd to close another 6 weeks in advance without any other information.

Don't blame you. There are plenty of people out and about around here during the day. I think people are getting sick of being at home all the time.
