BabyTac thread, but:
Stretching is a great practice and there’s zero reason everyone should not be doing it. It takes 10 minutes and you can do it in front of your tv. A lot of studies show it increases sleep quality as well if you stretch soon before bed.
I can lay my hands flat on the ground touching my toes, squat arse to grass, etc. Some of the lowest hanging fruit of making yourself feel better there is

Try yoga. It’s just stretching and meditating at the same time. Has nothing to do with being liberal.
I used to do yoga. I’d fall asleep every time at the end cool down

It’s changed my life. I’ve always been a gym rat and runner but never focused on stretching.
It’s the first thing I do and last thing I do each day now. 20 minute sessions holding each stretch for 20 seconds each. Makes everything in my life better.

How flexible are you?

Not flexible at all. At 12 years old I could touch my toes but it felt like my hamstrings were going to explode.
I have an athletic build and have always loved playing sports. Pretty quick on my feet. I've never once been able to touch my toes. I'm wound tight and it doesn't help I'm taller than average.

Can you please make a thread that doesn’t absolutely suck?
Thank you,

How many here routinely stretch?
I do a set of stretches every morning and every evening. I call it, tying and untying my shoes. I was 2 for 2 this morning. We'll see how the evening stretch goes.

I get my exercise playing golf...a scotch, light a cigar, grab a driver and head to the 1st tee...

Ah, the John Daly method of playing golf. Well, it's worked for him and he's made a pretty good living at it even if he hasn't won a ton of tournaments along the way.

As part of my New Year’s resolution I started doing two 20 minute stretch sessions a day. Morning and night. I’ve never felt better and can damn near do a split now. Have also dropped some pounds.

Can still bend over and touch my toes in my late 50’s. I’ll take it. LOL

At one time I could touch my head on the floor from a wide-leg sitting position. I wound up pulling both upper hammies.
At age 77, I can do the downward dog yoga position with both feet flat on the ground. It took years before I could achieve that. I stretch about 12-15 minutes a day, every day.

I'm 72 and the only thing I'd likely stretch is my luck with 2 knees with torn ACL's and 2 ankle surgeries in the last 18 months. I'm in PT for the ankle with no end in sight for the time being.
As for the ACL's, the Dr. is saying at my age and the fact I already had my rt. knee's ACL repaired in 92, I'm now a better candidate for total knee replacement and I don't even want to think about that right now with this ankle crap going on.
One thing at a time.....
On a lighter note, when I was a kid, one of my aunts could stand on a step stool about 1 ft. off the floor, drop a penny on the floor and keep her legs straight, bend at the hips and easily pick up the penny off the floor.
Stupid me tried it once and I fell off the stool and luckily wasn't hurt for my lame effort.

I used to flexible as hell. Could easily do the splits in my early 20s. I’ve got a little rotund in my mid 30s. Work a physical job but I don’t work out and never stretch. Wife dared me to touch my toes last week. I can still stand flat footed, lock my knees and put both palms on the floor. I may have strutted a little bit for a few days afterwards.

I used to all the time. Always felt better afterwards.. back in high school I was a diver on the swim team and could palm the floor with ease…
