If congress passed a law that EVERY person in the USA, that's diagnosed with cancer (no matter what kind) immediately gets disability benefits until they are done with the disease, how fast would a cure be discovered/revealed?

Not before the economy collapsed and anybody with common sense and the means fled this country with their wealth.

I believe that multiple companies are funding big bucks to cancer research. They want to sell the cure for cancer. Treatment is big money for the companies but I have to believe that they would rather cure the disease than sell their treatments. Maybe I put too much faith in those guys doing the right thing.

Cancer is the economic force in the medical field. If it gets cured then the cure has to be equally as costly as treatment I'd think or the whole system would implode.

At the same rate as now. There is no cure for "cancer." It's not one disease. Different organs, tissues and processes will require different meds.

Most doctors don't treat cancer. What "system?" If you want to be conspiratorial, there are plenty other chronic diseases that allow years of treatment and don't kill off the payer.

No difference.

The taxpayers are on the hook for disability. Big Pharma is only a tiny fraction of the tax base and the additional spending just gets added to the deficit.

Plus a cure would be VERY valuable.

There is already a cancer cure. I personally know people it has cured.
It’s a dog deworming medicine that contains fenbendazole. Google it if you don’t believe me.

There is no cure for “cancer” - it is not one specific entity. Anyone who does not believe this does not understand it.

Just imagine how much a cure is worth.

“Cancer” isn’t just singular thing. There’s no way to make a “cure” for something that changes.

Not any faster and probably slower.
Many types of cancer are already curable. There will never be "a cure for cancer" just like there will never be "a way to fix every car engine." There are a lot of different kinds that need different treatments.

Your proposal would probably effectively decrease cancer screening rates, and I would think most people with basal cell carcinoma would take the mole and the paycheck over the (miniscule) scar that heals it.

Idiots don't think about this. They just think it's all a scam by big pharma.

Kind of on topic, but I don't think many people know, Aflac (I'm sure other companies do as well) offers cancer insurance. They pay you for your treatments, which comes in handy when you are missing work. It's not very expensive either. Something I'll likely purchase in the future with my family's cancer history.

You don't have health and disability insurance with your employer?

Yes, this is separate. Just something I wanted to mention because it was very useful for my mom when she was let go from her employer because she couldn't work anymore.

Christ was considered weird as frick, too. Einstein was considered weird as frick. I'm sure Stacy Erholtz's cure was just a coincidence. Is there a spot near you where can stick my head in the sand?
