I was a lineman at a small 2A high school in Alabama. I was forbidden from touching the ball.
My senior year, we were playing a district rival that had beaten us something like 10 straight times. We had finished second in the district to them every year I had played.
They were a little down that year and we had some talent (the year after I graduated, my high school made the state semifinals), but everything seemed to go against us that night.
I was playing defensive tackle on a pass play, and somehow went unblocked. I went straight for the QB and jumped up as he was throwing a pass - tipped the ball up and caught it and started running. My slow arse almost died but I was about to score a fat boy touchdown before I was caught from behind.
Somehow I thought the right thing to do was pass the ball backwards. As I was falling down, I slung the ball over my head 20 yards. Ww recovered, but instead of 1st and goal on the 3, we had the ball at the 25 or so.
Coach looked at me and said that was a hell of a play until you went full retard. You better hope we f-ing score. We did, and ended up winning by one point. I got laid that night.

Eta: back in high school I could heave on right at 60 yards but couldn't tell you if it was going right, left or sideways. Today I'd be lucky to get it 30 yds

There is 0% of the OT that can throw the ball 70+ yards.
Maybe 1 former high school/college QB who can hit 60 with a good warmup.
The rest would fail miserably and throw between 20-40.

Exactly my thoughts. I know some are trolling but it seems others really think they could throw a ball 60+ yards.
20 Yards => probably 90% of the OT
40 yards => 60% ish
50 yards => 40%
60 yards => 10%
70 yards => 0% otherwise you most likely would not be posting on the OT

45-50yds collegiate ball in HS. I did not play QB, on the field I wanted to hit people football was a way to let out aggression for me. I played OLB at a D3 school before I tore my rotator cuff. Post surgery I would wake up in pain if I accidentally rolled over on my right shoulder. I pondered quality of life and quit football. Now I can throw it about 15-20 yds accurate 25+ and its going God knows where.

I've done this several times, and always throw it about 43 yards.
And I seriously doubt 40 percent of this board can throw it 50.
