B more like all, don't really make the y sound, but don't make the w sound either

The "y" represents a long "ee" sound; some people use a short "i" like in "pig" instead. Both still sound like what we think of as "oi" and not like a plain "aw".

Do any of y'all know anyone that says "earl" and "ersters" that's not from the Greater Chalmette area? That's the only place I've heard it, but was wondering if some other region of the country had folks that said those words like that.

Yep, St. Bernard Parish and maybe Bawcomville, but not sure many "ersters" make it to them parts.
