re: How does Publix compare in terms of prices?

Whole Foods being “overly” expensive is a myth since Amazon bought them out. Especially if you are a prime member. A weeks worth of groceries at Rouses is more expensive for me and the food quality is shite in comparison, especially for meat.

I go to Publix and get the BOGO items, using coupons as much as possible. I sometimes get things free this way.

Very expensive unless on BOGO

Somewhat depends on what you are buying. They have some things that are pretty similarly priced as anywhere else you go. Somethings are more expensive. On the whole, step up from wal mart, pretty similar to target, maybe a little more but not much, much cheaper than Whole Foods.

Publix prices are close to Super Target's and Albertson's.
One think that is worth every damn penny there is their deli. (Splurge for the Boars Head and thank me after.)

Expensive but those BOGOS are where it's at.
Just an aside, but I don’t like BOGOS. As a single guy, I just want one portion of whatever it is. I hate wasting things, especially food.
Not sure where you are, but in AL, if something is advertised as BOGO they are required to sell you 1 unit for half price.
Not the same as "buy 2 for 7.99".
You don't have to buy 2 to get the sale price.
If you pay attention and buy staple items when they are BOG, you can save money on quality products.

There’s a Publix next to Cheetah in Atlanta. Stop by around shift change if you want to be completely disgusted by the working women.

I look at the markup at Publix as the price I have to pay to not have to shop at Walmart.
A couple of years ago Publix built a new store in our fairly small town, Walmart was pretty much the only option and I was very happy. After a couple of trips to Publix the sticker shock was just too much so I've gone back to Walmart, usually very early in the morning when hardly anybody is in the store. Sometimes I do go to Publix for really good BOGOs but that's all I buy there. I guess I'm one of the undesirables that Publix keeps away with their pricing.

You don’t have to buy 2 of them to get the BOGO discount. You can buy 1 at half price.

When we get our hurricanes, Publix plays a huge role in keeping Florida from absolutely melting down.
Yep. Those trucks are always delivering and they step the frick up when a storm is coming.

A little on the high side but I go out of my way to shop there. Started shopping there in the early '90s when they entered the Atlanta area. Live in Birmingham now. They have cleanest stores around and their customer service is the best. You also don't have to buy two items to get the discount on their BOGO sales.
