What about raising the food bowl just so it's not on the ground?

Never understood the point of an outdoor cat. Basically just a wild animal that comes to your house to eat

They can patrol the property and keep away vermin. Especially if you have an old house built up.

Think I saw someone suggest putting bowl of food in middle of slightly larger bowl with water, kind of like a moat effect. Ants can't get to the center bowl, supposedly. I don't own a cat, but seems logical.
Good luck.

Put the cat food bowl in another shallow bowl of water.

The ants can't go through the water to get to the food bowl.

Pick up cat and put into large box.
Add food bowl.
Close box.
Bring box to nearby parking lot and leave it there.

get a small tray like a cookie tray. Fill that with water for the cat. Put the food bowl in the middle a few inches from each side. The ants won't cross the water to get in the food.

Depends on how many food bowls you’ve put out, and how many wellness checks from the PD have been served to your premises.
