I was pray had an episode in which a volunteer at an animal sanctuary in South Africa has a lion reach under a gate and pull her legs through the bars when her back was turned and she was sweeping the adjoining cage. She’s lucky to be alive.

My friend’s family owned a lion farm in Zimbabwe. He told me that before they mandated double fencing, they had a single fence around the giant yard in which the lions roamed.
A child wandered away from its parents and reached through the bars to pet a lion that was sleeping against the fence. The lion spun and grabbed the upper arm with its claws and stripped all the flesh. The child withdrew with just a bone for an arm.
